EQAO Grade 3 and Grade 6 – May26 – June 5

24 Apr

Students in Grades 3 and 6 will be writing the provincial EQAO assessment during the weeks of May 26 – June 5. We ask that parents avoid scheduling appointments during this 2 week period so that students are present for the instructional periods when EQAO is administered. It is difficult to find sufficient time outside the regular testing schedule for students to ‘catch up’ on the assessment.

LOST AND FOUND

24 Apr

Our Lost and Found box is overflowing with winter clothing and other items. Please encourage your child to check for items that have been lost. We also encourage parents/guardians to take time to stop by and look through the box as well. Unclaimed items are given to charity and will be donated around mid-May.

Day of Pink – April 9th

8 Apr

Brownridge is going PINK!  On Wednesday April 9th, we are asking all students and staff to wear something pink as we participate in the annual bullying awareness campaign.

This international event has been created to help empower victims and help people to stop bullying.  In 2007, two Canadian students witnessed a 9th grade boy being bullied for wearing a pink shirt on his first day of school.  Their response was seen as a move to empower the victim and stand up to the bullies.  Together with other friends they wore pink shirts to school the next day.

We are happy to take part in Pink Shirt Day 2014!  Please send your child to school wearing something pink.
