The Brownridge Snack Store opens tomorrow at morning recess

30 Oct

Hello Brownridge,

Our students have worked very hard preparing the Brownridge Snack Store for tomorrow (Thursday). Our grad fundraising committee is selling Kernels popcorn and cookies this Thursday (tomorrow) at morning recess. Popcorn is $2 per bag (flavours are cheese, ketchup, salt and vinegar, caramel, and butter/salt) and cookies are $1.50.

After this week the snack store will be open every Wednesday in the front foyer and in front of the learning commons (library). All monies raised are used to offset the cost of the grade eight graduation and the grade eight grad trip.

Thanks! The Brownridge Team

Things to know at Brownridge:

  1. The SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS COMING. Help promote a love of reading while helping the school fundraise for more resources. The Book fair will be here from November 11 to November 15. Students will have a chance to preview books before purchasing. The book fair will also be open during Student Led Conferencing and Parent-Teacher Interviews.

  2. Drive safely around Brownridge. Our awesome York Region Police are keeping our streets safe for our children. This is a reminder to come to a complete stop at stop signs and watch your speed on Brownridge. Let’s keep our kids safe and avoid ruining your day by getting a ticket.

  3. All are welcome to join us at our next School Council Meeting happening at 6:30pm on Monday, November 11. Want to connect with our school council chairs Tatiana and Rachel? Email them at brownridge.schoolcouncil@gmail.com.

  4. Thank you to our awesome School Council for organizing the Fall Dance this past Thursday. The music was amazing and fun was had by all. Stay tuned to hear about our next school event. Do you have any ideas? Email the council to let them know.

  5. It is getting colder outside. In order to enjoy the fresh air, students should dress appropriately so they stay warm during morning and lunch recess. Please note: If a child is too sick to go outside they are too sick to come to school.

  6. SAVE THE DATE: The second annual Brownridge Comic Con is happening on Thursday, March 5. We are looking to make it even more epic than last year. If you have any suggestions or input, we would love to hear from you. Email Mr. Gold at joe.gold@yrdsb.ca with your ideas and he will pass them on to the Comic Con Committee.

26 Oct

Good Morning Brownridge Families,

Parent-Teacher Interviews and Student Led Conferences are taking place in the evening of November 14 and the morning of November 15 for students in SK to Grade 8 at Brownridge. Sign up will open at 9am on Friday, November 1. You must use EDSBY to sign up for a time slot. An invitation/link will be sent to your Edsby inbox with a notification.

Here are some things you need to know.

However, if you would like to meet with a rotary teacher, you must call them to coordinate a time.
  • Students in JK will be having JK observations. Kindergarten educators will be sending home info shortly regarding observation sign up.

Sign up for interviews/conferences will close by 5pm on Wednesday, November 13. If you require assistance, please call the school.

Thanks and have an awesome weekend,
