Planning ahead for Brownridge…

Hey Brownridge Families!

We are in the process of setting up for September (hard to imagine) and need the most accurate information possible.  If you are moving to another school, please call the office at 905-660-3083 ASAP to let us know so that we can help with the transfer of files, etc.  IF you know of a neighbour or friend that is planning to register at our AWESOME school, please encourage them to also do so ASAP.

Info to Know at Brownridge!

Be in the Know at Brownridge:

  1. This week is Bike to School Week. Students who ride their bike to school will receive a ballot to enter into a draw to win prizes. Let’s be active! Let’s be healthy! RIDE!

  2. Friday, May 31 is Track and Field Day for students in grade 4-8. Please send students with a water bottle, a hat and wearing sunscreen.

  3. Thursday, June 6 is the Brownridge Funfair. Join us for a free evening of inflatables, a DJ, games, Pawsitively Pets, a huge silent auction and more!!! See the flyer for details. Thank you to School Council for all of your work and coordination. If you are able to volunteer for an hour or more please email Rebecca and Rhonda at brownridge.ps@sc.yrdsb.ca.

  4. The Brownridge Move-a-thon raised almost $5500! This is truly unbelievable! Thank you to everyone who contributed, participated and made a difference. The funds will be used to purchase new technology for student achievement and well being at Brownridge.

  5. Monday, June 3 is a PA Day. There is no school for students.

Brownridge Staff Appreciation Tea- Thursday, June 13

The Brownridge School Council will be hosting the annual Staff Appreciation Tea on Thursday, June 13.  They are looking for volunteers to donate their time to bake or buy some treats (such as cakes, pastries, muffins, fruit and veggie platters, coffee, or tea) for your amazing Brownridge staff (Peanut and Tree nut free).  If you can donate an item or your time, please email Rhonda and Rebecca at brownridge.ps@sc.yrdsb.ca

Important information for you to know from Brownridge PS

Dear Brownridge Families,

Please read this email carefully as there is important information that needs your attention:

  1. YEARBOOK- Today is the last day to order your 2018-2019 yearbook. What an awesome way to ensure memories last forever. Go to www.schoolcashonline.com to order today.
  2. FAMILIES OF GRADE 8 STUDENTS- The third installment for the grad package is due tomorrow. Please go to www.schoolcashonline.com to pay. Any questions? Please call the school (905-660-3083)
  3. POPCORN: Tomorrow, as part of the fun of the Move-a-thon, all students and staff will be given a free bag of Kernels Popcorn (a generous donation by a Brownridge parent). Thank you to those parents who have reached out based on our last communication to let us know if your child is unable to have the popcorn. If you are concerned about allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know today.
  4. MOVE-A-THON- Tomorrow is the EPIC Brownridge Move-a-thon. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we are raising money to purchase more technology for the school to support student achievement and well-being. Please consider any donation amount as every little bit helps. All students who return their envelope will receive a ticket to enter into a prize box in addition to receiving tickets to enter into draws for every $10 raised.
  5. FUNFAIR- The AWESOME Brownridge Funfair is happening on June 6. You can pre-order your meals now at www.schoolcashonline.com to ensure your family is well fed. (Only a limited amount of food will be available for purchase the night of). Join us for an evening of free fun, entertainment and community building.
  6. PARENT TALK- Tonight at Brownridge is a Parent Information Session about Youth Mental Health and ways to support. This free workshop begins at 6:30 in the library and is being hosted by School Council.
