This is a reminder to all parents that Monday is a PA day and there is no school.  Have a nice long weekend.

Grade 7 & 8 Vaccinations

28 Jan

Dear parents of female Grade 8 students and parents of all Grade 7 students:

This is a reminder of the upcoming  immunization clinic planned for our school.

York Region Public Health will be visiting our school on Tuesday February 2, 2016 to offer immunization against meningococcal disease (grade 7 students) and HPV human papillomavirus (grade 8 female students) as part of their school immunization clinic program. If you would like your child to be immunized, ensure York Region Public Health has your completed consent form on or before the day of the clinic.  If you have not already mailed in a completed consent form to York Region Public Health, you can download and print an immunization consent form from the School Immunization Clinics page on york.ca. The completed  consent form can be sent to school with your child the day of the clinic.

For questions regarding vaccines or the school immunization program you can call York Region Public Health’s Immunization Program at 1-877-464-9675 ext. 73452.

School Council Meeting Tuesday 7:00pm

11 Jan

Please join us at our school council meeting tomorrow, Jan.12. The meeting is at 7:00 p.m. in the library. All are welcome.

Arrive on Time!

11 Jan

At Brownridge, we emphasize the importance of good attendance and punctuality to help students establish patterns for success, now and in the future. As printed in the agenda, students who arrive late disrupt classmates’ learning and risk missing essential instruction.

Please make any adjustments necessary to your morning routines to ensure your child arrives at school on time.

Weather Alerts and Indoor Recess

11 Jan

Please know that we monitor the weather (Weather Network – Thornhill) on a daily/hourly basis in regards to students going outdoors for recess. We do take into account the wind chill factor. When the weather is minus 20 degrees and colder, students remain inside for recess.

It is important you send your child appropriately dressed for the winter weather when the temperature allows for outdoor recess.
